Follow-up discussion after Dr. Bronson’s Colloquium on 9/25.
Kelly Bronson will be leading a discussion of Phil Mirowski’s recent article, “The future(s) of open science” (2018). This paper will provide a foundation for talking about the activist network around big agricultural data who call for “opening” data for research (like genomics) and also opening technology design. Dr. Bronson will be touching on this activism in the Colloquium on Tuesday. Students might also look at an ongoing and public discussion thread among these activists called the “Gathering for Open Agricultural Technology (or GOAT)” found here: http://goatech.org
Please email Jason Delborne to let him know if you are planning to attend (not required, but helpful!).
