Bio
Jack Wang is Associate Professor and Director of the Forest Biotechnology Group in the Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources at NC State University. Jack is a forest biotechnologist focusing on the molecular genetics and genome editing of forest trees. His research applies multi-omics integration and machine learning to understand the genetic regulation of tree growth, development, and adaptation. These genetic insights are then used to inform multiplex CRISPR-based genome editing of trees for enhanced forest health, resilience, and productivity. Jack is also Co-Founder and CSO of TreeCo Inc. and an SAB member of the Forest Restoration Alliance. He teaches the ES 433 course on Biotechnology, Conservation, and Society.
